Spinning Through Space helps students understand the rotation and orbit of planets in the Solar System.
The book is framed around of a series of surprising statements about Earth, day and night, the movement of objects in space, and the length of a year. Each statement is supported with a detailed explanation of why the way we often describe things isn’t quite what’s really happening out in space.
The book also provides students with data (in photographs and tables) about planetary motion. Students use these data to make comparisons and further support the ideas they have been learning firsthand.
